Creek Geeks are cooler than we sound.

Join our team.

Each member of the Americorps Watershed Stewards Project (WSP) is responsible for coordinating a volunteer project to complete their term of service. These individual service projects (ISP's) engage the WSP members with their communities to encourage teamwork and watershed restoration.  Through hands-on engagement, community volunteers and WSP members create a healthier watershed for the salmon and the humans.

The ISP experience offers members an opportunity to extend communnity partnerships through recruitment and collaboration within their hosting communities.   To complete their ISPs, the members share a goal to recruit at least 13 volunteers each from the community.  The WSP members must also work with local landowners to implement their project, and contact local businesses to obtain tools, food, and other donations. Past ISP's have included tree plantings, invasive plant removals, creek cleanups, and instream structure installations, among other projects.

During service year 14, WSP officially launched a community watershed restoration volunteer program called Creek Geeks. The mission of Creek Geeks is to empower community members to contribute to the conservation and enhancement of their local watersheds through hands-on restoration and education.

If you volunteer for any WSP member ISPs you automatically become a member of Creek Geeks.  We encourage participation from any level of education, background or experience.  Please join us as we restore our watersheds!

Restoring habitat is an essential part of repairing and sustaing  our watersheds for salmonid and human use alike. For more information about restoration initiatives and why we conduct projects like these, please contact us!

We invite you to take our Volunteer Experience survey.  It is short, and will help us assess our volunteer program and to consider appropriate developments as the WSP moves toward the next step of volunteer management.
