Mission Statement

Our mission is to assess, protect, restore and maintain the Salmon River ecosystems with the active participation of the local community, focusing on restoration of the anadromous fisheries resources and the development of a sustainable economy. We provide assistance and education to the general public and cooperating agencies by facilitating communication and cooperation between the local communities, managing agencies, Native American Tribes, and other stakeholders.

Major Projects

Fisheries - Salon River Dives and Spring/Fall Carcass Surveys Education - Watershed education at Forks of Salmon and Junction Elementary Schools Noxious Weeds Program Riparian Restoration - native riparian plant propagation plantings, and restoration Water Monitoring- flow and temperature monitoring Fire and Fuels Reduction

Examples of Work

AmeriCorps at the SRRC are most often in the field. Every day is different, but most weeks will consist of noxious weeding, redd/carcass surveys, education/outreach, and water monitoring. During the winter months, most of the time will be spent in the office working on grants or reports.
